How to Read Odds
Odds are a numerical representation of the potential reward for a bet. 299bet can display odds in three formats — Decimal, Fractional, and American. For Bangladeshi players, Decimal odds are the easiest to understand.
Say Team A's odds of winning are 2.25. That is 2.25 in Decimal, 5/4 in Fractional, and +125 in American — three ways of showing the same bet. A ৳500 stake returns a total of ৳1,125 if you win (৳625 profit + original ৳500 stake). If you lose, the full ৳500 is gone.
The favourite's odds are usually lower. If Team B's odds are 1.50, a ৳500 stake returns ৳750 (৳250 profit) — because this outcome is considered more likely.

Bet Slip — Single and Multi Bets

Clicking on any odds adds that selection to the bet slip panel. A bet on just one event is called a Single Bet. Adding multiple events together creates a Multi Bet (or accumulator) — the odds of all selections are multiplied together, increasing the total return, but if any one selection loses, the entire bet is lost.
Multi Bet example: if three selections have odds of 1.40, 1.50, and 1.80, the combined odds = 1.40 × 1.50 × 1.80 = 3.78 (approximately). A ৳100 stake returns ৳378 if all three win. But if any one loses, the full ৳100 is gone. Multi Bets offer higher returns but carry more risk — keep your stake in line with that.
Another Decimal odds example from a cricket match: Team A 2.10, Team B 1.75. A ৳500 stake returns ৳875 (৳375 profit) if Team B wins; the ৳500 is lost if Team A wins. There are no draws in limited-overs matches — the result is always one of these two.

Betting Exchange — BACK and LAY Bets
In regular betting you bet against the site. In an exchange you bet against other players — this is known as BACK and LAY.
BACK Bet: Like a regular bet — you back a team to win. BACK Team A with ৳1,000 at Decimal odds of 2.50: if Team A wins, you receive ৳1,500 before commission; if they do not win, ৳1,000 is lost.
LAY Bet: You bet against a team winning — you take on the role of the bookmaker. LAY Team A for ৳1,000: your liability is ৳1,500 (৳1,000 × 1.50); if Team A does not win, you earn ৳1,000 before commission; if they win, you pay ৳1,500.
Before placing a LAY bet in the exchange, calculate your potential liability — it can be higher than your stake.
Bet History and Viewing Results
After placing a bet, you can go to "Bet History" or "My Bets" in your account at any time to see a list of active and completed bets. Each entry shows:
Open Bets
The match or event has not ended yet — the bet is active and waiting for a result.
Settled Bets
The event has ended and a win or loss has been determined — winnings have been added to the account.
Voided/Cancelled Bets
If an event is cancelled or a bet is declared invalid for any reason, the stake is returned.
Balance Update
The account balance is updated as each bet is settled and the transaction is recorded in the history.
